¡€ When you see withered plants or blackened soil around road run-off outlet it is due to harmful substances in road run-off
¡€As the domestic roads are constructed of impermeable materials such as asphalt or concrete, they can cause strong first flush even at a small scale of rainwater and pollutant concentration is also high.
¡€ Road runoff includes not only miniscule particles but also debris such as fallen leaves, pieces of vinyl, wood splinters, plastics, cigarette butts, waste paper, thereby causing clogging of road drainage
¡€Currently installed storm-water inlets only serve to remove rainwater, but it should have a function to primarily remove particles and foreign matters in line with the increasing trend of mandatory reduction of road run-offs pollutant.
¡€In industrialized countries such as the US, Japan, Australia, and Canada, they install pilot-scale and real-scale treatment devices for road run-offs pollutant control technologies to assess their effectiveness and accumulate technologies.
¡€Presently in Korea, there is no research on road run-offs pollutant reduction method utilizing road storm-water inlet so it is urgent we develop road run-offs pollutant reduction device for storm-water inlet that suits the domestic conditions.
¡€Though it is simple in structure, there is no independent technology for road run-offs pollutant reduction device for storm-water inlet in Korea. With the reinforced legal regulations due to the introduction of the total pollution load management system, it is likely to rely on imported products |

- Alternative to road run-off management technology
- Road run-off control technology is a new field of research currently under development in industrialized countries. It is
expected that the technology accumulation would result in not only research outcome accumulation but also economic
advantages through commercialization
- If this project is performed successfully, it is a new conceptual attempt that will reduce harmful pollution loads from roads and
contribute to water quality improvement in rivers thereby laying a foundation for future studies
- It would maximize business profits through commercialization and business through compact structure design in various
capacity and standardization
- Research results of this project will be presented in domestic and overseas professional journals and promoted by presenting
relevant papers
- Secure independent technology through patent application |

Research and development have been carried out in accordance with the purpose specified in experiment plan and experiment method.
There were systematic performance reviews through analysis of road non-point pollution source, product idea creation, lap experiments
Research and development efforts were directed to producing sample product to commercialize. The resulting product was ideal for the Korean storm-water inlet installation and modification,
In the future, the company hopes to accumulate more performance data and ways to improve the current version of product through cooperation with research institutes and participating companies. It also plans to set up measures to mass-produce commercialized products that meets key clients¡¯ standard sizes.
