Water-Level Response Type Fishway
Assembly ice harbor type fishway can have insufficient capacity to respond to varying water levels in a river as they have partition overflowing walls of identical height. During draught season, it would lead to a bumpy water flow. This fishway was designed to solve such a problem by lowering the height of the overflowing wall by 2.5, to 5cm to have the capacity to respond to the changes in water level in the river. To experiment with the water level response type fishway model, we applied various levels of overflowing water then measured flow rates and overflowing depth in two different arrangements of fishway blocks. As a result, we found that fish types that ascend through the overflow would not be restricted by flow rate and water level responses vary depending on their arrangements.
